Maison Martin Margiela’s ‘Anonimity’ comes to Singapore

The Parisian label known for its unique design DNA of minimalism and grunge exhibits iconic masks and other drool-worthy pieces at its newly-launched flagship store in Marina Bay Sands, The Shoppes.
As with many other fashion luxury labels that have set foot and made themselves comfortable within the confines of Singapore’s luxury haven, better known as The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, it was only a matter of time that Parisian label Maison Martin Margiela expanded its reign to Singapore – and the wait is finally over.
October 24 marked the enigmatic fashion label’s first flagship store opening at The Shoppes, which features 4 iconic masks, named Anonimity, from their AW12 to SS14 Haute Couture collection. Discounting the fact that the masks glistened from every angle, the 4 beauties certainly stole the show with their stoical air of indifference intertwined with arrogance, which together possessed an arresting power that captivated everyone effortlessly.
Tying in with Margiela’s design DNA of minimalism and genetic allergy to colour, nothing can rival the white-washed walls, luscious interior and marble tiling in providing a complete shopping experience in true Margiela fashion as one pours over the perfection that is the A/W14 Women and Men’s collection.
Of blithe femininity juxtaposed with otherwise masculine suits, atypical garments and heels that basically defy the laws of physics, be prepared to see the bulk of collection make it to your Christmas wishlist!
Anonimity, along with other exhibition pieces including Recycling, Detournment, Tabis boots, Trompe L’Oell and Passage of Time, will be on display at Maison Martin Margiela at The Shoppes in Marina Bay Sands #B1-10 until 7 November.
