Galactic Glamour: MCM debuts Space Odyssey collection

MCM's edgy new collection featuring galaxy prints, bold colours and exceptionally crafted leather textures ticks all the right boxes in our must-have accessory of the season.
MCM is having its moment. The once flagging German luxury brand is enjoying a fashion revival thanks in part to its unique designs and unofficial celebrity endorsement - with everyone from Beyonce to Rihanna toting the now iconic metal-riveted bags everywhere.
Luxurious but kitsch, MCM tastefully mixes streetwear with high-end fashion in their logo-ed leather goods that range from trunks to backpacks, belts and even headphones. Their Cognac Visetos logo, emblazoned unashamedly across every MCM product has come to be one of the identifying hallmarks of the brand – so it comes as a surprise that the luxury brand has decided to do away with the iconic logo in their latest collection.
Indeed, MCM’s new Autumn/ Winter 2015 Space Odyssey collection is full of studded rivets, shimmering colours and striking patterns reminiscent of the depths of space, with not a Cognac Visetos logo in sight.
MCM fans will definitely notice the edgier designs on offer with exceptionally crafted textures like grained goatskin and studded lambskin mingling beautifully with a wide range of multicolour furs and ombre metallic tones to reflect the ongoing intergalactic theme that inspired the collection. Expect to see lots of galaxy prints and an exciting update to its iconic Visetos pattern, now in tones of shimmering silver-gray and elegant dark green.
While the new collection is undoubtedly bold and different, the designs remain true to the brand’s foundation and the excellent German craftsmanship can be seen in each of the unique pieces.
