Manolo Blahnik unveils first capsule collection of clutches

Women all over the globe have fallen head over heels for Manolo Blahnik heels and now they’re about to do the same – just that this time it’ll be for bags.
If you’ve watched Sex and the City, you would remember just how enraptured Carrie Bradshaw was with her Manolo Blahnik shoes and rightfully so. The renowned shoe designer, who has only focused his craft on shoes for 40 years, has been making women literally fall to their feet upon the sheer sight of a pair of glistening, brilliantly made pair of heels.
Now, Manolo Blahnik shoes will not be all your hearts will flutter for. Soon you’ll be able to add bags, specifically bejeweled clutches to that tizzy-inducing fever. Set to launch end July, the collection of 6 styles will feature evening minaudières that are each an extension of some of Blahnik’s more decorative shoes. That also includes the highly coveted embellished Hangisi d’Orsay pump, made famous by Sex and the City.
Hence, as a result of the inspiration, you can expect nothing short of luscious clutches that come crafted in multiple jewel hues of satin, crepe de chine silk, leather and are laden with swarovski crystals. If those heels became iconic, we’re certain this standalone handbag collection is bound to reach equal heights.
At the moment, the bags are only set to be released at Manolo Blahnik’s store in New York City. However we’re fairly confident that in due time, they’ll find a way over to our wardrobe as well. Time is all that’s needed – and patience of course.
