While the chunky sweaters and knits will not work in Singapore’s heat, they would fit right in when dressing up in temperate countries.

Drawing inspiration through a Nordic lens, this season’s offerings from Club Monaco is unreservedly snug and filled with a luxurious selection of fabrics. Crafted with the contrasts of Iceland’s black, volcanic countryside in mind, you get to witness soft camel hues and dark green paired with ivory white along with calming and soothing shades of lavender taken from Icelandic ocean views.

While the collection does skew towards oversized silhouettes, chunky knits and structured coats – which makes it impossible to wear under Singapore’s heat – what is comforting though is the ability to take these pieces on trips to temperate countries. And judging by how much us Singaporeans travel, specifically to colder locales, in a bid to escape the soaring temperatures, this collection is ultimately a glorious godsend.

So take your pick from the women’s range, which includes 60s and 80s sensibilities with slimmer tops, shorter skirts, and slightly flared pant legs or turtlenecks dressed under comfy sweaters. In particular, we have fallen in love with some of the quirky prints (including mushrooms that don’t look like sophisticated mushrooms) and the oh so elegant silk tops that could be effortlessly dressed up or down in a snap.

Now all that’s left to do is perhaps book that long anticipated trip to Iceland, fill up your shopping bags with Club Monaco buys and saddle up for one charming and sartorial holiday during the year end.

What else could be better than watching the aurora while wearing a mohair coat?
