Either grab one of the designs created by local personalities and brands or put on your artist cap and create one of your own with Uniqlo’s UTme! app.

We are essentially a month away from celebrating Singapore’s 50th year of independence with exceptional fanfare and glitzy fireworks – in all of the nation’s red and white glory of course. So it comes as no surprise that SG50 tributes are dropping in with far more frenzy now.

This time we have Uniqlo on board with Street Tales, which is a curation of 55 stories from local personalities, artists and brands that capture the Singaporean essence. From MediaCorp artistes Rebecca Lim and Desmond Tan, well-known personalities Daniel Boey, Willin Low, Willy Foo and Clarence Lee, to homegrown companies Awfully Chocolate, BreadTalk, Jumbo Seafood and Tiger Balm, walk down memory lane with their narratives and you’ll be able to re-live everything Singaporean right down to the slang and quirky humour.

That’s not all, now you can print the tales onto T-Shirts through the new UTme! custom T-Shirt printing service. Otherwise, if you’d like to let your creative flag fly high, then indulge in a little experimenting on the UTme! app itself. Simple to use, all you have to do is either paint, insert a photo or text, and thereafter apply any of the available visual effects to create a one-of-a-kind T-Shirt just for yourself.

Lastly, in a bid to do good, all net proceeds from the sale of UTme! T-Shirts till 10 Aug 2015 will be donated to the Community Chest. The funds raised will also be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government under the Care & Share Movement, led by Community Chest.
So how’s that for creating, shopping and doing good all rolled up into one incredible package? We know we’re definitely getting ours done up soon!

UTme! T-shirts at Uniqlo Bugis+ at SGD29.90 for adults and SGD24.90 for kids. The printing takes about 10 minutes, depending on the complexity of your design and queue. View all 55 of the Uniqlo Street Tales here.
