This time, the Brazilian shoe brand looks to the city of Rio de Janeiro for their latest collection and boy is it one exuberant range.
While it’s essentially impossible to escape the tropical heat in Singapore, we’re not in the least bit complaining either, especially knowing that we get to wear gloriously colourful summer-ready garb all day, everyday. And that naturally extends to our shoe options.
Now, the one brand we can trust to deliver delectably exuberant footwear is none other than the fun Brazilian label, Melissa. By paying homage to the city of Rio de Janeiro, their latest Spring/ Summer 2016 collection is everything a summer vacation is made of. Namely, vibrance, comfort and full of spirit.
The ‘Wanna Be Carioca’ range takes inspiration from the Brazilian seaside city’s sandy beaches, music scene and rich culture to deliver cheerful designs that bask in perfection. By focusing on open-toed sandals and platform styles, the range is also exceptionally comfortable for skipping along a beach – because isn’t that what you want to do on a beach?

Our favourites from the collection has to be the Melissa Wanna Be Rio, which combines East and West elements with its clog-like sole and laced-up Oxford peep toe front, as well as Melissa Good Vibes that carries a hint of athleticism with its elastic straps. Although, we definitely wouldn’t mind getting a piece of them all at some point.
Experimental, quirky, refreshing and delightfully comfortable, there’s no denying that these bubblegum-scented shoes will definitely retain its place in our wardrobe.
