As Christophe Lemaire, Creative Director of Hermès womenswear collections, leaves the house to focus on his personal brand – We look back at the best of his creations during the past 4 years.

There was a big announcement this week in the fashion world. Hermès has revealed that its artistic director Christophe Lemaire will be leaving the French house this fall, to focus on his label.

However, Hermes (women) fans did not have to wait so long as Lemaire’s successor has already been revealed. Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski will be continuing the womenwear collections, and especially continuing the sober and rigorous DNA that has characterized the brand for the past four years. Indeed, Lemaire was not particularly interested in the ‘spectacle‘, instead he gently renewed the aesthetics of the house, highlighting the excellence of materials and an uncompromising craftsmanship.

Watching the journey of her predecessor, there is no doubt that Vanhee-Cybulski it will address the challenge honourably. The young woman of 36, has graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and the French Institute of Fashion… she also had stints at Maison Martin Margiela, Celine and The Row, when the Olsen sisters basked a CFDA Award in 2012.

We are certainly looking forward to her first catwalk collection with great curiosity. Meanwhile, here’s a look back on four years of sophisticated elegance from Christophe Lemaire’s days at Hermès.
