It’s hard to resist cartoon characters especially when they’re splashed across clothes – like REDValentino’s whimsical Disney-inspired Fall ’14 collection

There’s no arguing that REDValentino officially has a lovestory for fairytales. While the last Fall collection took to the pages of Hansel and Gretel with an illustrated forest as its backdrop, this season we’re greeted by Snow White references coupled with all of pop art’s vibrant glory.

Comprised mainly of structured feminine dresses and skirts in bold stripes and colour combinations, casual denim shirt dresses and a plethora of coats, the collection is indubitably whimsical and fitting enough to lure your inner child out. Essentially, whether you choose to flaunt the leather shorts, polka dot jacket or the transparent raincoat, you’ll definitely be having oodles of fun dressing up every morning.

What truly takes the cake (or apple) though are the line up of kitschy accessories, from suede lipped shoes, apple-shaped and owl-shaped bags to the eye patch that resembles a heart. These are accessories that’ll bring their own limelight and instantly become conversation starters – can’t say no to that.

Ultimately, the Fall 2014/15 collection celebrates a dichotomous relationship between innocence, fierceness and a cunning psyche –  all of which are topped off with a subtle delicateness. Genius we say and an apt representation of fairy tales as well, where an evil witch, stepmother or queen never fails to mess with the sweetness.

So as doe-eyed fans of the varied Disney characters who kept us company in our childhood, it’s only fair that we’d be stocking up on a couple of pieces from the collection and live happily ever after in them.
