Rihanna: 2014 Fashion Icon

Move over Lady Gaga and Kate Moss, it’s Rihanna’s turn for recognition as a fashion icon! After several collaborations in the fashion world including Balmain and River Island, she was awarded with the great title for this year.
Once again, Rihanna gets us talking about her. The world famous pop star was recently elected as fashion icon by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), an association that recognises the masterminds of clothing design and creation.
At just 26 years, the ridiculously attractive young woman put her imagination to the benefit of several collections for River Island, in collaboration with Adam Selman.
After setting the world on fire musically, Rihanna has proceeded to become a key figure in the world of fashion. With a penchant for short and sheer, she knows how to make a buzz, and definitely knows how not to go unnoticed.
With so many strings to her bow, the beautiful Barbadian still found time for a good cause and became the face of a range of MAC lipstick aimed at raising awareness and help for AIDS sufferers. And it was clearly a successful collaboration – the brand reeled her back in, but this time to create her own makeup line, Riri <3 MAC.
More recently, Rihanna has become the new face of the Balmain Spring/Summer 2014 collection.
She will receive her fashion icon award on June 2, 2014 in New York.
