OOTD from Marie France Asia: Sporty Chic

updated the 14 July 2015 à 18:33

From the couture runways to RTW shows and now the streets, here’s how to rock the trend that everyone has been obsessed with.

sporty chic

Remember the jaw-dropping moment when sneakers made its debut on a haute couture runway? Well, the sports luxe trend it sparked off – which practically went against all the fashion conventions we stood by – has taken the fashion world by storm and it doesn’t look like it’s about to dissipate anytime soon.

Sporting this trend doesn’t necessarily mean dressing down and walking around in your gym attire because no matter what your excuse is, sweatpants will always be “a sign of defeat”, as aptly put by Karl Lagerfeld. Unless of course, it’s full-on leather – of which then you will be excused.

Word of advice on how to nail this trend to a T? Ditch that boring ol’ pair of worn out trainers. Instead, hit the road with a pair of show-stopping high-cut printed sneakers, and make your look come alive with a printed sweater and splashes of neon on your nails and wrist.

Seems like fashionistas will be rocking the sporty chic trend for a long time to come, because who can deny a look that maximises comfort without compromising on style?
