September is the time to try new trends. Even if you live in a tropical country, somehow you are tempted to experiment with different styles whether in clothes, bags or even shoes – which to be fair are the easiest to pull off regardless of the weather.

Bored of your sandals? then get ready to cover up our toes in closed shoes and slightly thicker materials.

The shoe trends this season consist mainly of two keywords: masculine and comfortable. Ankle boots are abundant and loafers are transformed to suit most occasions and reveal a confident, well-grounded walk without compromising on style.

In pursuing comfort while preserving a smooth transition, we can first move onto flat shoes and loafers.

Rocking that 1950s saddle shoe look, together with a flavour for traditional brown leather soles, we are looking to wear fairly light footwear that while still airy, will get us slowly accustomed to wearing fully closed shoes and boots. The saddle shoe comes in perforated and breathable leather and is decorated with thin, circular waxed laces.

Other styles for loafers and flats keep the shoe material plain and minimal while focusing the attention on a single bright colour; perhaps a colour recalling our accessories, in bright metallic gold or even leopard print?

But if you’re eyeing those ankle boots, make sure you keep them sober in colour – black or coloured matte leather – maintaining a low heel to keep the back straight and comfortable.

Influences from this fall’s Punk trend are placing over-sized – or over numbered!!- Bad-boy buckles on ankle boots to embrace our ankles tight and make the centre of gravity firmly grounded as we place our heels into the future.

These masculine boots are worn with feminine clothing – like midi skirts, floral dresses – to create an androgynous look that should be completed with other masculine and Punk- reminiscing accessories.

Our ultimate tip: Whichever transition into fall shoes you decide on trying, just remember to make it creative and mix traditional styles with bold detail.
