Festive fashion: What to wear for Christmas?
updated the 6 October 2015 à 23:35It’s that time of year again – from dazzling party dresses to sparkly heels – check out our favourite outfit inspirations for this holiday season.
Here at Marie France Asia – we’re really getting into the swing of the holiday season. From repeated Christmas carols in grocery stores to over-the-top decorations in malls – we love it all. That being said, our favourite thing about this time of the year is obviously getting all dolled up in snazzy dresses and eye-catching pumps.
Once the first door of our beauty advent calendar has been opened, our fashion focus shifts to one-of-a-kind heels and unique cocktail dresses. However – with too much sparkle we can sometimes end up looking like a Christmas tree – and not in a good way. So here are some of our tips for chic-dressing, all season long:
Location, location, location
Although obvious – when putting together your holiday outfit, it is essential to keep the location in mind. Whether you’re celebrating beach-side or at a hotel – let the venue determine how casual, or fancy you have to dress.
Think colour
Christmas is usually about sparkling whites and crimson reds – but rules were made to be broken, right? This year, instead of wearing the same old festive colours, why not opt for something a little different? Cobalt blues and blush blinks are the colours to wear right now.
Accessorise!
Whatever colour you decide to wear, add a little ‘oomph’ to your outfit by throwing in a pair of metallic heels, a statement necklace or a cute fascinator.
All that glitters
Pull out all the stops by coveting a beautiful sequinned dress. But remember, because the outfit is very bold – keep the rest understated. Plain pumps minimal jewellery, and neat makeup!
Nude knockout
If all else fails – opt for a champagne-toned frock in lieu of little black dress. Flattering, sophisticated and totally festive – rock this trend and you’ll be one step closer to dawning Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s glamourous aura.
From glitzy gowns to chic sweaters, sparkly tops and party heels; here are our picks of everything-festive to rock on Christmas day.
