When the late Madame Carven established her namesake label in 1945, all she wanted was to make couture suit her petite frame. Seven decades on, the brand is now flourishing with contemporary designs and still holds true to their objective – to make practical and youthful designs for their young, fashion-conscious customers.
The recent Fall 2015 lineup that designers Adrien Caillaudaud and Alexis Martial sent down the runway saw a modern update to the chic Parisienne. The styling on offer was top notch that brought us from flirty 60s silhouettes, to playful preppy looks to retro proportions. Charmed by the collection, we decided to recreate a look that oozed sophistication while paying homage to the 80s.
A billowing-blouse-and-streamlined-trousers pairing was the main attraction here, completed with matching black accessories and complimentary gold hardware. Statement black boots go well with the ensemble to amp up the wow factor by creating a seamless flow from the high-waisted pants. To accessories, all you need is a statement necklace and skinny belt. Maybe throw on a leather rucksack and you’ll be more than ready to go.
