Let your skinny jeans rest in your wardrobe for now while you embrace this year’s flare affair. Here are some wide-leg pants worth the splurge.

After what seemed like an endless fascination with skinny, second-skin bottoms, we’re finally delving into a love affair with this year’s runway muse: the flared pants.

The wide-leg trousers, reminiscent of the 70s, graced a myriad of Spring/ Summer and Fall/ Winter 2015 runways. Balmain‘s pleated flared pants for instance, swayed with languid sensuality every step of the way, while Giambattista Valli‘s stood out with their lurid prints. Kenzo showed how slippery silk bell-bottoms can be formal and Gucci, in contrast, went old school with flared jeans for a chic, pared-down look.

Inspired by this year’s love affair for the haute hippie look, our gallery has some inspirations on how to get your 70’s shine on point with flared pants. Most designers like Lanvin and Emilio Pucci pair theirs with a sharp blazer, but you can also dress yours down with a crop top a la Carolina Herrera.

You will also find in the gallery a collection of splurge-worthy flared pants from several online shops. See if you’re more into Blank Denim’s glamourous pair of faux leather pants, or Inner Circle‘s double slit ones. So shop away and fall in love with the 70s all over again!
