How would you like to see the world through filtered lens, sufficiently protect your eyes from the sun’s rays and still look exceptionally stylish? With Tens, you can.

Why we love it:

Let’s face it, we’re Instagram addicts and from the photo-sharing app, we’ve developed a love for filters and editing our photos just to see them in a much better light. Well, instead of clicking button(s), now there’s a way to see the world beautifully, through your sunglasses.

Typical sunglasses block out the light with desaturated cold colours but with Tens sunglasses, you’ll be greeted with an uplifting warm tint instead. Conceptualised by a trio of Edinburg-based creatives, Tom Welsh, Marty Bell and Kris Reid, the idea came to them while on a road trip to northern Scotland. There, while the scenery was irrefutably stunning, they realised that only through filters or specific photo-editing applications would they be able to capture the place’s true beauty. In that  moment, they thought up a way to filter everything they see but without the use of technology. And the easiest, perhaps most apparent way was to utilise an accessory we already wear ever so often – sunglasses.

Tens sunglasses essentially work with the warmth of the sun to create a real-life photo filter, thus allowing us to view the world with a custom sense-heightening tint. Currently, the Classic style which resembles wayfarers are rather durable and also features a strong five-tooth hinge. Lenses are scratch resistant and boasts of UV-400 protection, essentially blocking off 100% of harmful rays – we definitely need that for Singapore’s scorching sun.

We love that the frames itself are classic enough to be worn whenever and carries a nonchalant vibe, whether you get it in Black, Navy, Red or Teal. On top of that, how could we resist seeing the world through filters? No argument there really.

Where to buy it:

Tens sunglasses (approx. SGD155) are available for purchase online.
