OOTD from Marie France Asia: Channel the modern librarian

Take reference from the wardrobe staples of the typical librarian, but inject your own bit of quirkiness by amping up the chic factor for your work look.

OOTD librarian

If you’re stuck in a style rut, we suggest taking on a new look for the office by channeling your inner chic librarian. Give the typical shirt-and-cardigan ensemble an update by matching it with a printed bottom instead of the usual black, brown or navy blue skirt.

Thereafter pick out a crisp shirt and pair that with a cardigan over – there’s just something about shirt collars over cardigans that we love. The look is preppy but not too over done, and paired with different accessories, the entire vibe can sway from one to the next. Here we decided on a bright printed midi pencil skirt from the ever-quirky House of Holland, and matched it with minimalistic DVF sandals that come with a similar green shade and complementary leopard print heel. A black leather clutch that’s perfect for dinner can be switched up with a larger carryall for work. As for makeup, dark nude lips do just the trick in adding an understated, put-together look to the playful-but-serious outfit.

Now all you need are a pair of prescription cat-eye glasses! And don’t forget to wear them low on your nose bridge (as the librarians do).
