OOTD from Marie France Asia: Pastel Perfect

updated the 14 July 2015 à 18:32

Take a breather from all the blinding gold and sequins of party outfits and cleanse your wardrobe with these soft pastel hues

playing with pastel

Donning yourself in blush shades doesn’t necessarily mean you instantly become a walking macaron – that is of course, unless you have not got the right pastel proportions in your get up.

Work a maximum of 2 different hues, and tilt the scale away from the saccharine end towards the chic end by blocking intrusions of noir – leather wrap bracelet and culottes are the way to go. Opt for separates to create a smarter and more preppy look, and top off the colour blocks with a backpack of another pastel hue for contrast. Brownie points for accents of silver on your fingers too. Make up wise, we reckon a highly defined eye liner for a stronger look – to offset the sweetness of pastels – will do just the trick.

Undeniably one of 2014’s biggest trends, now would be the perfect time to strut around in pastels to cleanse your outfits from gold, sequins and shimmer courtesy of all your party gear and await the new batch of trends that 2015 has in store for us.
