OOTD from Marie France Asia: Monochrome dream

Monochrome need not be synonymous with monotone. We show you how to do the sombre shades right.

After losing our nation’s founding father, it seems gauche to be wearing anything bright over this weekend. But that doesn’t mean we have to be shabbily dressed, just appropriately coloured for your weekend OOTD.

Channel hipster rock chic with a leather jacket, made feminine thanks to the tailored waist, over a white eyelet cotton dress. Then add quirky accessories to your outfit to avoid looking like an overdressed goth kid –  think rings with chains and functional watches with cute details.

Throw all your essentials into a black multi-purpose tote bag and tie a black and white printed scarf to the bag for a vintage feel. Tuck your feet into a pair of comfortable Cuban heeled ankle boots with metal embellishments.

Complete your look with a classic black frames – whether the glasses are prescribed or just frames for fun, it throws the whole ensemble together by making you look slightly more approachable. Of course, you can opt not to wear the glasses if your aim is to look fierce, fierce, fierce.
