We tell you the exciting history of slides and fill you in on how to wear them.

The story of the unlikely sandal

There was once a story about a mediocre-looking footwear: the pool sandals.
She once asked the mirror if she was beautiful, but she didn’t get an answer. From an early age, as a result of bad tastes, the sandal has been left unloved and mistreated by women because of her unflattering plastic demeanour. However, the lifeguards defended the footwear tooth and nail, arguing that they are comfortable and relaxing.
By the early 70s, Adidas concurred and released its own model, dubbed the ‘Adilette”. Then the trend commenced. The unlikely slides were worn at the beach with big white sports socks. They were called names, such as “flops” or the unfortunate “fashion faux pas.”

Revenge of the slides

When the slides overcame the hate, and successfully eased into the fashion scene, she turned into a kind of footwear that fashionistas called beautiful. Fashion shows, magazines, and shops started featuring the newfound slides. The sporty hybrid became an easy alternative to sneakers in the summer.

Now, the slides are confidently cozy. They go with any embellishments: sequins, studs, platforms, leather or metal details.

Can you imagine what the mirror says now if the slides were to ask the same question again?
