Aluminium Foil
To clean your silver, line a bowl with aluminium foil. Then, fill the bowl up with water and mix in one tablespoon of powdered laundry detergent (without bleach). Let your jewellery sit in the solution for a minute before taking them out and wiping them gently.

Ammonia
Soak your bling for 10 minutes in a solution of clear ammonia (1/2 cup) and warm water (1 cup) then let them air dry. This method is excellent for silver and gold, but will ruin pearls.

Ketchup
Everyone’s favourite condiment doesn’t just go with burgers and fries, it's great for bringing the sparkle back to silver jewellery. Let them sit in ketchup for 10 minutes at most then remove and scrub gently with a toothbrush before rinsing it off.

Baking Soda
Make a thick paste of baking soda (1/4 cup) and water (2 tablespoon) and clean your baubles with it. Be careful as this solution can loosen the glue that holds gems together.

Beer
This golden brew also works great at bringing shine back to your gold pieces. Pour a little beer onto a cloth and gently polish. Be sure not to use dark ale!

Window Cleaning Solution
What do you do when you got dull metal jewellery? Put some Windex on it! Then buff gently with a cloth and voila!

Club Soda
Inject some life back into your gemstones by letting them soak overnight in some club soda, then wipe dry and you’ll get gleaming stones. Be sure to use only on precious and semi-precious gems.

Denture Tablets
Drop your pieces into the water with a denture tablet and let it sit for a few minutes. Then remove your jewellery and you’ll see them sparkle once again.

Toothpaste
Toothpaste can be used on most pieces. Place some paste on an old toothbrush and scrub away tarnishes on your silver, gold or gemstone jewellery. When you’re done, simply rinse off with warm water.

Vodka
Get dazzling diamonds and gleaming crystals with this spirit. Like the beer method, pour it out onto a cloth and polish your gems. If you don’t have the time, just swish your pieces in vodka then wipe them down.
