Do you know what else is a good idea besides Paris? A new pair of shoes. Whether it’s been a great day and you feel like rewarding yourself with a new pair of heels, or your newly purchased sundress begs you for some new floral flats – or simply because those sexy stilettos in the store display are screaming your name – getting a pair of new shoes is a wonderful treat.
Before you channel your inner shoeaholic, let’s first take a season review of the best SS15 footwear trends.
That 70s Show
Since apple-bottom jeans, silky fabrics and flared sleeves from the 70s were spotted quite frequently this year, it only make sense for footwear from the era to make a comeback. Suede boots and dashing mules synonymous with the blithe spirit of the 70s have been revamped to fit the modern-day fashionistas.
Fabulous Flats
Who said that elegance is only attainable with height? Metallic, furry or studded, flats are chic and wearable for both luncheons and soirées. The Spartan lace-up sandals are perfect to go with a long gypsy-like dress, or if you’re not fond of the idea of spending too much time putting them on, opt for a pair of wedges.
Japanese-inspired platforms
Flats and heels found common ground in terms of balance and height in Japanese-inspired clogs. The SS15 runway revolutionized the seemingly awkward footwear by infusing them with a sense of fashion-forwardness.
The sneakers
Thanks to the brilliant minds of fashion designers, we no longer have to sacrifice comfort for style. There’s an entire lineup of stylish sneakers this season. If the sneaker trend has just started to grow on you and you’re looking to get your first pair, we reckon you get a pair of white sneakers. It’s all the buzz this season.
Now that we’ve filled you in with all the juicy details of the season, what’s the verdict? Which shoe trend will you be eyeing?
