26 Refreshingly ‘un-Coachella’ outfits spotted at Coachella 2018
updated the 17 April 2018 à 20:28Our favourite non-Coachella Coachella looks (you know what we’re talking about).
It’s that time of the year again, where your social media feeds are saturated with a ceaseless flow of festival pictures in every imaginable shade of tie-dye prints and festival fringe.
Yes, Coachella season is officially upon us. And if Beyonce’s history-making act as the first black woman to headline the festival is anything to go by, it’s certainly an iconic one. (We’re still reeling from the Destiny’s Child reunion, FYI.)
Needless to say, Coachella has evolved to become so much more than its music, and equally as much an annual style parade. We have to say – we’re loving the departure from what we’ve come to know as that classic Coachella look this year. You know what we’re talking about: it’s the culturally-insensitive bindis and Native headdress, flower crowns, Western boots, and all-fringe-everything.
Instead, we’re seeing nods to streetwear, with cargo pants, athleisure tracksuit-inspired pieces, and vintage looks with bright, striped co-ords and retro sunglasses reminiscent of the ’60s. Because let’s face it: we’re way past the fashion heyday of glittery face paint and predictable festival fringe ensemble, anyway. Yawn.
