WHAT IS A CROP TOP?
The term comes from the English verb ‘to crop’, which means to “cut” or “resize”. From t-shirts to blouses, they can all undergo the same shortening process to stop above the waist, revealing a little or even a lot of skin. In recent seasons, this flirty style has come flying straight out the 90s to invade the streets and our favorite stores. The trend has been so hot lately that we have probably been asking ourselves whether the crop top is really worth investing in anymore.
HOW TO GET THE CHIC LOOK?
The risk of appearing ridiculous absolutely must be mastered. There are many types and styles of crop tops and the key to success will lie in finding one that will suit your body.
Driven by the excitement surrounding the crop trend, brands like Zara and H&M offer chic versions that can easily be pulled off. Here are some tips to follow:
- The purpose is to reveal a little skin, just enough to give a taste of summer. Drop the ultra-short version that is more like a teen bra, unless…
- If you opt for the shorter version, avoid navel apparent cuts and play with the proportions by associating it with high-waisted pants or skirts. In addition, include a fluid suit jacket, which can add a contrasting style and inject stylishness.
- If you have large chest, banish tight-fitting crops with stretchable material. Instead, invest in material that will not stick to the body and pick ones without a neck or sleeves.
