Wondering what’s the best place to get your caffeine fix in the little red dot? Here are our favourite spots.

As caffeine addicts ourselves, we know the importance of a quick pick-me-up to help you get through a busy day at work. A good, quality brew definitely goes a long way so we have compiled a list of premium coffees that have our stamp of approval.

Shots

We stumbled upon this gem while going down Club Street and boy, are we glad to have found it. We love the chic and laid-back interior of Shots and the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans that engulfs the cafe. The coffee here is excellent and our personal favorite – the Hazelnut Latte, will keep us coming back for more. This is the perfect place to go for your caffeine fix and catch up with some friends on a weekend morning or weekday afternoon.

Chye Seng Huat Hardware

From the outside, this place may seem like a run-down hardware shop. But do not be deceived by its exterior because this nondescript, hole-in-the-wall coffee bar is always packed with regular customers looking to satisfy their caffeine cravings. The coffee here is brewed to perfection and definitely packs a punch for those of us struggling to survive the day.

Common Man Coffee Roasters

Stepping into this quaint and cosy café, we realized that the coffee beans here were fresh and roasted daily which made us all the more excited. If you are looking for something light and fruity, go ahead and order their Filtered Coffee. This brew is made from Columbian beans laced with fruity and almost tea-like notes that will surely leave you feeling refreshed. Our personal favorite, however, is their mocha which was incredible subtle, silky and smooth; easily one of the best mochas in Singapore!

Department of Caffeine

Once we heard of this new kid on the block, we were immediately drawn to the quirky name and we knew we had to try their coffee. The plain filter coffees at Department of Caffeine are made with filtered water and single-origin Five Senses beans. They serve up coffee that is packed with flavor and the fragrance of the coffee beans is enough to make your mouth water. We like that our coffee was not overly bitter and there was no need to add copious amounts of sugar before drinking it. We are definitely coming back for more.

The Bravery

Opened by the guys behind the well-loved café The Plain, the interior of this new coffee joint is perfect for a tranquil and cozy afternoon with your book and a cup of freshly brewed coffee. The Bravery serves up a roust Melburnian blend of Genovese java that boosts intense flavors that a true coffee connoisseur will appreciate. With such powerful flavors, just one cup is enough to spring you out of those mid-afternoon lulls.
