Come hungry and prepare to have your stomach satisfied with affordable offerings from the edgy British burger chain.

As if we Singaporeans aren’t already spoilt for choice when it comes to good, juicy burgers, another excellent burger chain has made its way to our shores. MEATliquor, the edgy British burger chain famed for their messy burgers and killer cocktails have planted their first overseas outlet at a cosy corner unit in Duxton Hill.

Founded in 2009 by Scott Collins and Yianni Papoutsis, MEATliquor is all about getting back to the basics of good ol’ American comfort food. There’s no mention of wagyu on the menu and the burgers are served on a canteen tray, with no utensils, and good old tissue roll instead of snazzy napkins. However, it’s substance, not style that has put the burger chain in the Top 100 Restaurants at the National Restaurant Awards for three years straight.

Expect to see tried and tested classics from the London chain such as The Dead Hippie, Dirty Chicken Burger, Deep-Fried Pickles and Chili Cheese Fries. Asian-inspired bites, like sambal fries, soft shell crab and sambal wings made from locally sourced ingredients will be making their debut on the MEATliquor SINgapore menu as well.

Last week, we had the opportunity to try out some of the burgers and side dishes on offer and boy did we leave feeling stuffed. Click through the gallery to find out how each dish fared.

MEATliquor is located at 99 Duxton Rd and opens from Tuesday to Saturday at 5pm-3am.
