3 Hot new restaurants in Singapore to check out

Our 360° insider guide on the latest restaurants to check out in Singapore!

One thing’s for sure: dining out on our little island NEVER gets boring.

With new restaurants and bars cropping up every month across the city, the dining experience has become so much more than just the dishes. A great menu, well-thought-out concept, and an inviting ambience are definitely what give restaurants the edge.

Three new buzzworthy spots we’ve been loving of late? Origin Grill, Alley on 25 and alittle tashi – and for these very reasons. Check them out first before you head down through our 360° restaurant tours below! (Pssst – watch them on your mobile for the best viewing experience, or view it on full screen!)

ORIGIN GRILL

If you love a good grill, this one’s for you. Origin Grill & Bar is helmed by Sydney-born Chef Heidi Flanagan, who brings her international culinary experience, spanning from Turks & Caicos Islands to Bali, to her craft. Calling it the ‘Heidi touch’, she believes food should feel unpretentious, fresh and be sustainably sourced.

Its stunning art deco-inspired decor is equally worth a mention. Modern, light, and inviting with rich wooden furnishings that beautifully contrast against the pops of turquoise, it definitely echoes the restaurant’s commitment to fresh, authentic food.

ALLEY ON 25

Alley on 25 takes that quintessentially Singaporean street dining (think: the likes of Haji Lane, Ann Siang Hill, and Tiong Bahru) and – quite literally – elevates that into a sky-high dining experience. This all-day dining venue features a bar, lounge, and 5 different dining concepts which offer beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding historic Kampong Glam and Marina Bay area.

Depending on what tickles your fancy, there’s Auntie’s Wok and Steam, which serves tze char-style menu items; Plancha’Lah, where your favourite hot plate dishes are whipped up with flair and finesse right in front of you; and Smoke & Pepper, perfect for anyone who loves modern-Asian barbeque grub. If lighter bites are what you’re after, there’s Icehaus, which has delicious cold cuts, sustainable seafood, and heirloom salads; and The Green Oven, which prepares hearty meals with a twist with their massive green Beech oven.

UOB Special: Up to 15% off total bill for Auntie’s Wok and Steam, Icehaus, Plancha’Lah, Smoke & Pepper, and The Green Oven. Valid till 31 December 2018. UOB Dining Privileges’ General T&Cs apply.

ALITTLE TASHI

Nestled along the hipster dining district of Jalan Besar is alittle tashi, a new late-night mod-Asian supper spot to keep on your radar. We love its broad approach to food. Ingredients ranging from foie gras and escargot to yuzu soy and blood cockles are all introduced to your favourite Asian comfort foods.

This new 60-seater restaurant also has a charming Laundry Room concept at the back that we love. With its LED-lights and two-storey high clear glass windows which overlook the alley, it’s a delightfully intimate space to enjoy your cocktails and bar bites with friends and family.

UOB Special: Complimentary bar bites with every spend of SGD80. Valid till 15 August 2018. UOB Dining Privileges’ General T&Cs apply.
