Sister bar to award-winning 28 HongKong Street, Crackerjack is a new all-day drinking and dining destination. This means that apart from their fresh, fun cocktails, you can also get breakfast, lunch, and dinner here, and even brunch on the weekends. The food menu is comforting and hearty – those heading to the bar after work can fill up with proteins like local barramundi or roasted chicken, while for brunch, the horchata pancakes and sweet potato hash are clear winners.

Internationally acclaimed cocktail bar 28 HongKong Street is perhaps Singapore’s worst kept secret by now. One of the first secret bars in Singapore, the bar is styled after New York speakeasies and hits all the right spots with its serious cocktails, knowledgeable service, and lounge-like atmosphere. The bar food here is similarly elevated, with updated American-style dishes such as Brussels sprouts with bacon, and mac 'n' cheese balls.

Loof
Sitting atop Odeon Towers, casual rooftop bar Loof is the original throwback bar with its humorous local references in its fun and quirky drinks. Their revamped bar food menu is the result of a zany collaboration with local chef Bjorn Shen of Artichoke and Bird Bird, and comprises a mashup of local dishes with traditional bar grub for strong flavours that pack a punch. Dishes like the chilli crab waffle fries or BCM grilled cheese complement their light and refreshing cocktails.

ATLAS
Housed in “Gotham building” Parkview Square, the art deco-styled ATLAS is a grand cocktail bar celebrating all of the decadence and glamour of the roaring 1920’s. The bar is headed by Roman Foltán, formerly of London’s award-winning Artesian at the Langham, and boasts elegant cocktails and one of the largest collections of gin and champagne in Asia. Expect no less from their all-day dining menu, which features European dishes using the freshest ingredients and exquisite presentation from executive chef Daniele Sperindio, previously from Open Farm Community.

Employees Only Singapore
Hankering back to the days of the Prohibition era, Employees Only Singapore is the local outpost of the famed New York cocktail bar of the same name. A favourite hangout amongst industry folks, it is popular with the local crowd for its convivial atmosphere and delicious cocktails. Drinks aside, partner and executive chef Julia Jaksic's modern American food menu stands on its own. Hand-cut steak tartar, homemade pasta, and porterhouse pork chop make a satisfying dinner, while bone marrow poppers and bacon-wrapped lamb chops from the late night bar food menu served until 12.30am will keep the hunger pangs away.

Potato Head Singapore
Forget fast food already. While you sip on tiki-style cocktails at the tropical bar on the rooftop of the Potato Head Singapore building, order yourself a gourmet burger prepared fresh from Three Buns kitchen on the ground level. The burgers here are cooked to order and made of quality prime beef and lamb from the UK and Australia. In addition, their tasty buns are baked daily and all the sauces, pickles, and garnishes are made in-house.

Sugarhall
A modern twist on traditional steakhouses, Sugarhall is a rum and grill bar opened by the same people behind reputed cocktail bar Jigger and Pony. With meats taking centre stage here, go for the hanging tender steak or dry-aged ribeye steak from their grill. Small plates like prawns and beef short ribs are also available and pair beautifully with their rums. Those averse to the spirit needn't worry either. Just take your pick from the classic or Sugarhall signature cocktails on the menu.

The topic of bar food usually conjures images of chicken wings, potato wedges, and calamari, which frankly sounds like the diet of a high school student. Often, the food menu we come across at bars feels more like a lacklustre afterthought of uninspired snacks strung together, or worse still, the frozen food section of a supermarket. First world problem? Maybe, but Singapore is a foodie nation, after all.
