Sure, its name might make you worried, but don’t worry because this place is an absolute gem. Though it is ultimately a cafe, the cocktails served here are absolutely delicious, which is why it makes this list as well. This cosy bar has won the hearts of many with its mish mash variety of drinks that makes this a gem in Penang. From the atmosphere, with the good crowd that feeds to the vibe of the place, to the wonderfully crafted drinks that never fail to provide a little kick. And while its beverages have gotten a lot of love, the food offered here isn't too shabby either. The naked pork burger or the mushroom zucchini pasta is a great accompaniment to good drinks!

Of course, The Canteen also serves up drinks and live music, making this a popular hangout for anyone and everyone.
