Just because they’re hard to find doesn’t mean that they compromise on quality or atmosphere.

With speakeasies ramping up in popularity all across Southeast Asia, it isn’t surprising to find that Bangkok is home to a few unique ones. Whether they’re laid-back and intimate spots, or resemble more of a loud den of revelry, you can have your pick in this vibrant city. Themed bars are all the rage. You might, for example, find the likes of a glorious 1930s Shanghai establishment fronted by a noodle shop that features Qipao-clad ladies (Maggie Choo’s is the place to be), or a pre-revolutionary 1940s Cuban cocktail bar decked out in impressive old-fashioned ornamentation that fit the part (Havana Social, we’re looking at you).

Whatever floats your boat, as they say. If you’re looking for a good spot to chill in Bangkok and would like that added adventure of finding a secret bar, head up to the gallery for a good place to start.
