Sprouting up all across the red dot is a thick toasty phenomenon the sweet-toothed foodies are more than happy to get behind.

Singapore has no shortage of good desserts. Although the soft-serve craze that gripped us a few months back shows no signs of flickering away, the next Instagram-worthy dessert staple is already elbowing all other sweet contenders off the shelf for a top spot in our hearts and on our plates.

This season, if you haven’t already, then it’s time to get yourself acquainted with Shibuya honey Toast. The dessert has its origins in Tokyo and is a thicker, sweeter version of French toast. Unlike plain French toast however, the Japanese version is a towering mountain of toasted bread topped with anything from whipped cream, ice cream, fruits, caramel and maple syrup. It would take a mighty amount of self-control to turn down a plate of eggy, creamy, toasty goodness!

Ranging from restaurants to specialty cafes, here’s our roundup of the 6 best places to enjoy a mountainous mouthful of the photogenic dessert du jour.
