Caffé B: Affordable set lunch in a fancy setting

Enjoy a hearty three-course meal that is perfect for the executive, serial shopper or families looking for a fine-dining lunch experience at a reasonable price
Quite unlike the name suggests, Caffé B is not your quintessential cafe. With both a bar and a restaurant, on two different floors, it is a fine-dining and social-dining establishment with food at even better prices. The three-course set lunch (at SGD25++ per person), features a starter of either a soup or a salad, a choice from three main courses and dessert, It’s an excellent choice for the office person, shopper or for families looking for a slightly fancier lunch option.
The concept for the restaurant was created by a Japanese woman who had the unique vision to open a high-class dining establishment based on the principles of authentic Italian cuisine, merged with elements of traditional Japanese food, thus creating a unique selling point.
Diners can start their meal by choosing from either the light but delicious cherry tomato salad, complete with tangy dressing or the Soup of The Day starter options and then making their way to the main courses which include a pasta, fish or chicken dish.
The Paccheri Pasta with Prawns and Octopus is rather unique – blending an authentic Italian dish with Japanese favourites – Octopus and lobster sauce. It is served with two purees, dashed across either side of the dish – broccoli and cauliflower – which complements the unique taste of the pasta.
If you’re looking for more protein, then opt for either the light panned-seared Red Snapper with Soy Based Sweet Sake Sauce or the Grilled Chicken Roulade in Japanese Brown Sauce which is served with Beetroot Puree and lightly fried slices of crispy potatoes.
The dessert is an Azuki Chocolate Bar which again, strongly alludes to the Italian and Japanese influence of the restaurant – a chocolate with cherry infused bar along the top and red bean paste along the bottom.
Caffé B is definitely a lunch experience we’re sure to revisit soon.
