Having a sick day or feeling down in this cold and rainy January? Soup always soothes the soul!

Hachoo! Is that a flu coming on? January’s rainy season often gives us all a hint of the sniffles. Alas, despite flying men to the moon and having robots for drivers, we are still short of a cure for the common cold. However, there is one thing that remains the myth of all flu relief – soup.

Hearty broths and warming flavours do something incredibly satisfying to the soul, especially when you’re feeling under the weather or on a grey, rainy day.

Although there is no concrete science behind why soups seem to help relieve even the most stubborn of colds, nutritionists argue that they can reduce inflammation. Soups also tend to be rich in nutritious ingredients, and are hydrating, which is always a plus when you’re feeling down in the dumps.

Have a look through our gallery at some of our favourite Asian soups you can find in Singapore to warm you up during this rainy season!
