‘Coeur de Boeuf’ recipe

CHEF IN HEELS Simbian Chua shares her original ‘beef hearts’ recipe, which can be complemented with spaghetti or eaten in a bun as a burger.

Serves 2 | Takes 20 minutes

Ingredients:

600g Minced Beef
1 Apple, skinned
Salt & Pepper
Parsley, chopped
1 Garlic, chopped
4 Tbsp olive oil

Method:

  1. Mince the skinned apple and put into a large mixing ball.
  2. Now, combine the minced beef with the garlic and apple.
  3. Mix well and sprinkle some salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Mould it into 4 medium sized hearts and pop it into the freezer for 3 minutes.
  5. Drizzle olive oil and place hearts onto the pan, fry on low heat.
  6. When all sides are brown, pop it into the preheated oven of 180C for 10 minutes.
  7. Garnish with some chopped parsley.
