Live better with chronic inflammatory joint disease

In France, a million people suffer from a chronic inflammatory joint disease. Finding treatment advice, assistance and solutions that facilitate daily life can also be found here in Singapore.

Rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis… chronic inflammatory rheumatism affects several million and usually appears before the age of thirty.

LIVING WELL WITH INFLAMMATORY JOINT DISEASE

The Living Room of Arthritis, organised by the French Association of polyarthritis and chronic inflammatory rheumatism, is a free event that takes place every year. It allows patients to attend lectures by leading experts of rheumatology on topics such as diagnostics, research, management, etc. Workshops centered on physical and moral well-being are included. Meanwhile, information stands will be manned by professionals to answer questions from patients or their relatives about the disease, its evolution and its treatment. Finally, the salon of the arthritis is an opportunity to discover new techniques to improve the quality of daily life.

Locally, widespread awareness on the disease has yet to be publicised, but members of the public can refer to nearby clinics or visit SingHealth’s page on rheumatoid arthritis.
