We shed light on another mental disorder that exists more commonly than you think.

Depression is much more than just a feeling of utmost sadness. Often times the word ‘depressed’ is used as a passing remark, one of dramatic hyperbole to exaggerate feelings that will only come to pass. But for some people, feelings of hopelessness and sorrow can be long-lasting, with detrimental effects. This medical condition can impede a person from carrying out daily activities, even instilling pertinent thoughts of suicide. A telltale sign of depression can be the loss of motivation, an unceasing sense of unwillingness to complete even regular, everyday tasks.

If these symptoms persist, it can cause someone with depression to sink even deeper into their illness. An estimated 121 million people worldwide suffer from this mental health condition, with the sickness being more prevalent than we think. So whether you’re the one with depression, or if it’s a friend or a loved one, here are some tips to find inner motivation even with depression that may help to make someone’s day a little better, one step at a time.
