How to calm a gout attack?

To overcome an attack of gout, there is of course the anti-inflammatory medicine. But a change in diet and a few granules of homeopathy can help reduce pain and prevent recurrences.

This inflammation, which most often concerns the big toe joint is caused by uric acid crystals that attack the synovium (the tissue surrounding the fluid that allows the joints to “slide” between them). Result: The toe swells and becomes red, hot and very painful. During a gout attack, it’s usually advised to not set foot on the ground until the anti-inflammatory treatments work.

IT BEGINS IMMEDIATELY TO DIET

In most cases, an excessive uric acid-rich diet contributes significantly to the occurrence of gout attacks. By the time the pain calms down, we forget and continue to devour meats, wine, anchovies, herring and sardines. In everyday life, and to avoid suffering again, we need to moderate our consumption of these foods, and generally with saturated fats, alcohol and refined sugars.

HOMEOPATHY TO THE RESCUE OF GOUT

“In addition to conventional drug therapy (anti-inflammatory), we take Apis 5CH to limit inflammation. One dose every hour, alternating with 5 granules of Colchicum 9CH,” suggests Dr. Scimeca, President of the Medical Society of biotherapy and author of Homeopathy for Dummies¹.
