Yet another revival of a trend from the past – Here’s how to style one of the hottest accessories from the 90s!

First a tribute to tartan and now a revival of 90s hottest accessories trend? Seems like the fashion world has been plagued with a severe bout of nostalgia of late, and we couldn’t be happier that chokers were included in this walk down memory lane.

Chokers took a luxurious turn as Karl Lagerfeld sent a pearlescent neckpiece down Chanel’s SS14 runway, and it wasn’t long before it sparked a collar craze amongst models, singers and style icons such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rihanna and Rachel Zoe just to name a few.

From minimalistic gold bands to amp up the chic factor in a casual off-duty look or glam up a whitewashed outfit, to dramatic brass plated chokers to give your ensemble an added edge, or even laced chokers with a Victorian pendant to give a leather-on-leather look a more gothic vibe, there is definitely a choker for every style. However, if merely perching a choker on your collarbone is too boring for the accessories junkie in you, we reckon some layering with necklaces of varied length to inject more character into that statement piece of yours will do just the trick.

While summer is ideal for chokers as with heat, come more skin-baring outfits that naturally accentuate one’s neckpiece, it doesn’t mean chokers take a back seat come fall. Rest assured that you’d look just as chic with the hint of metal coyly peering through layers of knitwear during colder months.

Don’t you just love trends that can transcend all seasons?
