Step up your emoji game with Karl Lagerfeld’s latest venture which features all things Karl. From Choupette to his signature gloves and even his new fragrances… texting has just got more fashionable!

Seems like dabbling with technology and joining in the digital age has become a ‘thing’ for fashion’s iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld. From incorporating drone cameras during his Fall 14/15 Fendi show and now creating EmotiKarl, an app entirely to call his own – Lagerfeld has certainly gotten the memo that technology is gradually making its mark in the creative industry and will soon be responsible for revolutionising the fashion world.

Marking Karl’s second brush with pop culture, EmotiKarl aims to promote his new fragrance Karl Parfums, while allowing his darling Choupette to make an adorable cameo as well. The app also includes emojis of Karl’s iconic silhouette and commonly-used hand signals – now decked in his trademark fingerless leather glove.

The best thing about the app you ask? It’s free! Yes dolls, you heard it right. For the first time in fashion history, a product from the Karl Lagerfeld is synonymous with everybody’s favourite F-word.

But, here comes the catch. Didn’t think Karl would make life easy, did you? To use the emoticons, you have to first compose the text within EmotiKarl itself, save it as an image before you are able to send it as a message. If you’re complaining about the hassle, your loyalty – or lack thereof – to Karl and her Highness Choupette is utterly disappointing.

Now we’re just wondering, where exactly will the eccentricity of King Karl take us next?
