Loving high-shine fabrics but afraid of being too flashy? Indulge in your guilty pleasures with these metallic accessories instead!

As blinding as the SS14 shows were, with glistening gold and shimmery silvers gleaming across countless runways from the likes of Lanvin, Saint Laurent and Phillip Lim just to name a few, we can safely say that metallics were clearly a hot favourite. Truth be told, what’s not to love about being draped with liquid silver or being coated in molten gold?

If however, the thought of sparkling in broad daylight like Edward Cullen isn’t really your cup of tea – as tempting as it may sound – and neither is the idea of being caked in the muted hues of powder blue or dusty pink, injecting just a hint of iridescence in your wardrobe might just be what you’re looking for.

It could be in the form of a rose gold stilettos to bring out that black peplem hem dress you might be wearing for a party, or perhaps Marie Turnor’s gold laser cut clutch to go with an all white ensemble for a dinner date – it’s undeniable that metallic accessories does wonders in adding a twist and bringing out any outfit to radiate a dynamic, yet mature and sophisticated look.

However, as much as you love this show-stopping trend as we do, bear in mind to not pile on too many metallic accessories at once to steer clear of being dubbed as the Tin Woman. One for the shy types, two for the adventurous ones, three for a themed party, and four? Maybe only for the times you play dress-up in your own room. As much as metallic accessories can help you score points in the OOTD game, it could very much also be your downfall to the valley of trashiness.

From shoes to handbags, necklaces to iPhone cases, sunglasses to scrunchies, we’ve got all you need to rock evening wear, beach wear and even brunch wear – all in metallic style!
