Infidelity: 40 % of women are ready to forgive adultery. Are you?

Are women more vindictive than men in regards to infidelity? Are some infidelities less forgivable? Take a look at the results from a study by Ipsos and Gleeden.com concerning extra-marital relations.

Couple crisis

A one day love affair, a virtual affair, an affair that lasted for months – the list of infidelities go on and on.  40 % of women surveyed would be ready to forgive a spouse’s moment of folly according to this recent study by Ipsos and Gleeden.com. Yet, the unfaithful men do not expect to be so easily forgiven by their partner, according to 68 % of the men surveyed at least.

The top 3 infidelities that women could forgive most easily were virtual infidelity (48 %) followed by a heterosexual one day love affair (39 %) and a platonic love story (31 %). On the other hand, a heterosexual close relation (15 %) or homosexual relation (10 %) would be least accepted by the women and thus would be more difficult to forgive.

ARE MEN LESS VINDICTIVE?

For men, the absence of having sex seems to be the key to forgiveness. 59 % of the questioned men reported being ready to forgive a virtual infidelity and 46 % would forgive a platonic love story, if sex was not on the table. On the other hand, they reported having more difficulty to forgive a heterosexual ongoing relation, than a homosexual relation.
