Daniel Craig, Barack Obama … working against sexual assault

updated the 11 June 2014 à 22:15

The White House has officially committed against sexual assault through a video. In the video we see stars such Daniel Craig, Steve Carell and president Barack Obama defending women.

Too often, cases of sexual assault shake the American campuses. The stories provoke the indignation of families and student communities across the country. This is why two courageous students, victims of sexual abuse at the University of North Carolina, went to meet Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand in his office and ask for some effective help.

Their plea against campus rape was met with a nationwide endorsement – and support from The White House which is mobilizing the “1 is 2 Many” campaign to raise awareness about this terrible issue that affects all women, students or not.

The numbers released by the White House are chilling: 1 in 5 students is a victim of sexual abuse, one in 9 teenagers is forced sexually, and 1 in 10 teenagers is knowingly abused by her partner. One is too many for sure.

In a video montage, actors like Daniel Craig, Benicio Del Toro and Steve Carell join many others in voicing their opinion on the issue, with Carrell stating that “it’s happening to our sisters and our daughters, our wives and our friends,” while Democrats Joe Biden and Barack Obama call men to “be part of the solution “and not the problem.  And remember: “If she doesn’t consent – or can’t consent – it’s rape; it’s assault.”
