Lupita Nyong’o: The new IT girl in fashion?

Talented, beautiful – and painfully stylish – this is the fashionista we’ve been swooning over since she burst onto the scene an hit the red carpet.
Move over Jennifer Lawrence, there’s a new IT girl in town!
For the uninformed, Lupita Nyong’o is a gorgeous Kenyan-Mexican actress who made her debut in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, won a SAG (Screen Actors Guild) awards, was nominated for a Golden Globe AND is currently up for an Academy Award for her role in the movie.
An on top of that – and to us perhaps the key point – she has been hitting the red carpets and blowing photographers and fashionistas away with her grace, stunning looks and impeccable fashion choices.
From sexy metallic Valentino number, classic silver Chanel ensemble, striking turquoise Gucci gown and impossible delicate Elie Saab couture to more daring choices like THAT Ralph Lauren red capped dress, a bold printed Mary Katrantzou and even a quirky Miu Miu – one thing stood out for sure which is her (or her stylist’s) eye for perfect colour and cut pairing. We have to give her credit regardless.
While we are used to Hollywood stars getting stuck one one style and designer (yes we’re talking to you J.Law!), this newcomer has not repeated any look/designer or style. The only consistent thing so far has been her equally striking beauty looks, topped off with an au natural hair style which no amount of extensions can beat.
We love the elegance and grace she carries off even the boldest, brightest of colours and designs. Frankly, we can keep waxing lyrical about Lupita’s style for hours-but instead we will spare you that and leave you to drool over this beauty and her faultless fashion picks.
Now, we can go back trying to guess what she might wear for the big Oscars night. Any ideas?
