In the annual Traveller’s Choice Awards from TripAdvisor, the Umaid Bhawan Palace, located in Jodhpur in India has won the title of best hotel in the world.
At the annual Traveller’s Choice Awards from TripAdvisor, the Umaid Bhawan Palace, located in Jodhpur, India, has won the Best Hotel in the World. This is the first time that an Indian hotel has managed to snag the coveted title!
ART DECO ARCHITECTURE
Opened in 1943, this palace of the Thousand and One Nights was created by the British architect, Henry Vaughan Lanchester. Fully dressed in yellow sandstone, the Art Deco estate was one of the largest private residences in the world designed to accommodate the royal families. With its own museum, gardens of sight, its giant library and squash courts with marble floor, it dazzles by its grace and outrageously ostentatious luxury.
