Some nail polish colours are much easier to remove than others. More stubborn varnishes are those with a red base, such as plum or burgundy, and they can definitely leave unsightly stains on your fingers as you try to remove the colour from your nails. Fear not, there’s a foolproof way to make nail polish removal successful and mess-free.

  • Step 1: Cut a round cotton pad into smaller pieces, much like a pie chart (five or six pieces will do).
  • Step 2: Thoroughly soak each cotton piece in nail polish remover and leave them on each nail a few minutes.
  • Step 3: Firmly press down on the cotton and drag it to the end of the finger along the nail’s surface. The colour should come out easily and effectively.

The trick, according to Agathe: Your cotton pieces should remain parallel to the nail and must not touch the skin or cuticles in order not to spread the colour when removing it.

A huge thank you to Agathe Pons for such valuable advice!
