The Chanel Fall/Winter 2016-17 Haute Couture show presented us with an amalgamation of angular cuts, flat surfaces, and pronounced fringed seams that create bold and arresting silhouettes. It is interesting to note just how much Karl Lagerfeld desired to acknowledge and pay tribute to the people working behind the scenes who worked tirelessly to create the unique and precious pieces presented during the intimate show.
Just over the weekend, Chanel released an amazing video that brings you straight into the studio while the masters go about their day to craft the works of art that form the inspiring Haute Couture Collection. Watch as the talented artists create their masterpieces while being surrounded by sewing machines, mannequins, thread, needles, and swathes upon swathes of fabric. The video is a beautiful way for the fashion world to truly recognise and appreciate everything that the designers, dressmakers and stylists bring to the Chanel house.
