Before you embark on your next trip, you might want to download this nifty app onto your iPads. It’ll add all the difference to your dining experiences.

Increasingly, the fascination with traveling comes not only from scenic landscapes, shopping havens or nature explorations, but from tasting the local cuisine. To simply put, a lot of us travel solely for the sake of food.

To make our hunt for delectable gourmet food a tad bit easier, hotel experts Mr & Mrs Smith whipped up a new iPad app that pleasantly houses the culinary genius behind 20 of the most scrumptious foodie destinations in the Smith hotel collection.

The Great Global Chefs app includes exclusive recipes from eminent chefs such as David Thompson of Nahm in Bangkok; Lee Westcott from the Typing Room, London; Alla Wolf-Tasker from Lake House, Australia; and a host of 17 other culinary experts from Hampshire to Hong Kong. The comprehensive app features detailed chef and restaurant profiles, step-by-step recipes, themed recipe collections and a cooking-mode function that gives you the opportunity to become a restaurant-chef in your own kitchen.

To create the app, Smith sifted through more than 950 hotels around the world and curated 20 venues, each one offering dinner options worthy of a stopover.

The dedicated food service doesn’t stop there. Mr & Mrs Smith also launched an online hub, ‘Traveling with Taste’ that features the world’s best dining destinations from country-house hotels to Michelin-star-spangled kitchens. The portal includes mouth-watering entries such as the best street food cities; foodie experiences around the globe as well as Smith’s team of food travel experts to call upon for advice.

The next time you sit down to plan your travel itinerary around food haunts, be sure to have the Great Global Chefs app on hand as well as the online hub open to ensure that your trip will be a palatable food-filled adventure.

Download the Great Global Chefs app for free on the App store.
