Heading to Singapore and looking for a place to stay? Then you might want to consider the spanking new Hotel Jen that’s right in the heart of the city.

For most leisure and business travelers, a decent hotel is an invaluable aspect of their entire trip. This is where you would enter in the newly-opened Hotel Jen, the stunning accommodation that is essentially a sanctuary in the middle of Singapore’s main shopping belt, Orchard Road. Inspired by the virtual persona, Jen, a professional hotelier who loves life, travel and the adventure of discovering new places, the hotel basically seeks to attain higher pinnacles of hotel hospitality.

More than just its accessible location, the hotel prides itself for their fresh and relatively fuss-free approach. For instance, guests can check in with the iPad-armed staff and check out within their hotel rooms, through the 40-inch television sets – eliminating long queues at the concierge.

Spanning between level 10 and 19 of Orchardgateway, the snazzy hotel boasts of an impressive 502 rooms that are up for stays and to really entice you, here are 5 reasons why we’ll be recommending this to our next overseas guest.

1. Right smack in Orchard Road

More often than not, location is the determining factor when it comes to booking a hotel for your stay. It needs to be just footsteps away from food establishments, shopping malls, bars and if we’re stretching it a little, even near nightlife haunts. Which is why Hotel Jen prides itself for its exceptionally convenient location. Think access to three malls internally, a whole selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, public transport at your doorstep and just a stone’s throw away from the city’s lounges and clubs.

2. Rooftop pool

The one indulgence or detail we tend to conscientiously look for in hotels is undoubtedly the pool – unless we’re heading to a cold weather country, then not so much. Nestled between buildings, the rooftop pool at Level 19 offers relatively scenic views of Singapore’s skyline and nothing beats a luxurious dip as you ironically escape from the city-life, despite being in the heart of the city. Three stunning rooftop pools are available, a 25m lap pool, 22m leisure pool with a hydro-jet corner and wading pool for the kids.

3. Overstay option

Here comes our favourite part. Beyond simply offering a late checkout till 6pm, there is a chance that you’d be able to overstay at the hotel for up to 24 hours, completely without strings attached. While this option is of course subject to availability, knowing that there is a likely chance to stay an additional day is more than enough for the spontaneous traveler.

4. Makan@Jen

Food wise, there are some delectable choices but the main restaurant within the hotel is an aptly titled Makan@Jen. ‘Makan’ to mean ‘eat’ in Malay. The all-day restaurant offers up a blend of local cuisines and international classics that has both a la carte and buffet style options. For those who are in a rush to business meetings and the like can benefit from the provision of takeaway boxes so you can eat on the go.

5. Panoramic views

Finally, a good view is always an added treat to your hotel stay. So with floor-to-ceiling windows, you will be met with dramatic backdrops – whether the streets of Orchard Road, the Central Business District or Marina Bay – depending on your choice of Superior (27m2), Deluxe (from 32m2) or Premier Panorama (from 41m2) rooms.

Hotel Jen is located at Orchard Gateway, 277 Orchard Road #10-01. Prices start from SGD260++ (approx. USD205++) and is available for bookings online
