If you’re a true blue foodie then this is one food festival you do not want to miss

Singapore’s food scene may already be phenomenal as it is, from hawker stalls to Michelin star restaurants; the island state is a true food paradise for any wallet. Hence, it is no surprise that a gourmet village, where the best of local and international culinary experts are set to congregate, is happening in Singapore.

Savour 2014 is a massive gastronomical festival held over four days from March 6 to 9 at The Promontory at Marina Bay Sands. To fill your foodie stomach, the festival boasts of hosting local stalwarts such as Bruno Menard (La Cantine) and Emmanuel Stroobant (Blue Lotus and Saint Pierre) alongside celebrity chefs, Michael Caines (Gidleigh Park, 2 Michelin Star) and Henrik Yde (Kiin Kiin, 1 Michelin Star). With 20 restaurants and over 50 signature dishes, consider your stomach filled – you might have to loosen a belt buckle before you’re even done.

While you make your rounds and snag tasting portions of signature dishes (priced from $6 – $18SGD), be sure to strike a conversation with the rather charming chefs. Speaking to the gastro geniuses behind the delicious dishes has to be every foodie’s dream. Could you ask for more?

Set up was given a complete overhaul this year with a special focus on the ambience of the space. Hence, the event space will mimic a rustic village vibe where restaurants will be quaintly nestled amidst bars, cafés, bakeries and dessert shops that are purpose-built just for the event.

And if you have always wondered how these chefs served up palatable food while the kitchen ends up in a mess when you try it, then the live cooking demonstrations should be your area of interest. Here’s where you get to pick up tricks of the trade from the very best and eventually stun your family the next time you whip up dinner!

After all that mouth-watering talk of the festival, we believe the gourmet village is indubitably a stunning culinary experience that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.
Savour tickets are available at sistic and begin from SGD45 with a credit of SGD30 to be spent at the event.
