It might be better known as a ski resort, but Club Med Tomamu in Hokkaido is certainly worth a visit during the summer months.

Club Med Tomamu in Hokkaido is known for one thing–skiing, right? Wrong!

Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido has just recently rebranded to offer a unique Hokkaido summer holiday experience to its guests that want to experience the beauty of Hokkaido under the sun. Hokkaido during the summer is the perfect getaway for those who are allergic to both the intense cold and heat–you won’t be miserably snowed in, but you can also escape from the hot and humid Singaporean weather as well!

Flowers, flowers, and more flowers

Prepare to fall in love with the beautiful country landscape of Hokkaido in the summer. The newly-offered excursions that Club Med Tomamu will include exploring the vibrant colours of the flower-filled hills of Tomamu, looking upon the enchanting views of Biei, and heading down to the famed Farm Tomita at Furano, where you can immerse yourself in lavender flowers at a flower plantation. The vast flower gardens that seem to carpet the horizon in Hokkaido are renowned both within and outside of Japan, and serves as an incredible photo op for families and couples alike! Club Med Tomamu also offers relaxing walks and picnic spots where guests can spend time soaking up the scenery.

Indulge in traditional Hokkaido cuisine

At Club Med Tomamu, guests can enjoy a wide range of international and Japanese dishes at the resort’s main buffet restaurant, Itara. Interestingly, the buffet restaurant is divided into four distinct spaces, which includes Haku, specializing in Japanese Yakiniku, and an outdoor section that serves barbecued fresh seafood and meats. Hokkaido is known for their dairy products, so don’t miss their soft serve dessert as well.

Adventure time

Club Med Tomamu also offers programs for those who want a little more adventure. At sunrise, early-risers can experience the mesmerising natural phenomenon of clouds rising over the mountains at the Unkai Terrace, known as the “Sea of Clouds”. Taking advantage of the mountainous terrain of Hokkaido with acrobatic classes by the established Circus Academy, guests can learn the art of juggling, percussion and dance, and even get to swing from an outdoor trapeze! The Mountain Academy also offers biking and hiking expeditions through the mountains of Hokkaido.

One thing’s for sure: Hokkaido is more than just ski resorts and snow festivals!
