British Airways launches new lounge and has F1 driver as one of their first customers.

Before British Airways unveiled their new lounge at Changi Airport on Sep 29, they had the privilege to play host to F1 driver Jensen Button when he was in Singapore for the Grand Prix.

“A British Airways lounge is always a treat as it’s a little bit of familiarity, a sort of home away from home and the new lounge in Singapore is fantastic,” said Button, who was on his way to Japan for his next race.

Button was one of the first customers to enjoy the ritzy new lounge and the ever Concorde Bar outside the UK and the US. The exclusive area, only open to First customers, features the digital panoramic views of the Singapore skyline, allowing patrons to see the city without leaving the airport.

Located in Terminal 1, the main lounge, decorated with artwork by established Singaporean and British artists, was upgraded with new spaces to work, relax and dine. It is open to all of BA’s Business and First Class travellers as well as oneworld frequent flyers.

“Our new lounge caters to customers – like Jenson – who live life in the fast lane,” said Robert Williams of BA, “It is specially-designed to be an oasis of calm and tasteful luxury, enabling travellers to work or unwind in a relaxing environment.”

To celebrate the new lounge, BA is offering its Club World customers a complimentary one-way upgrade to First Class on flights between London and Singapore, as well as a 60 pound (SGD120) voucher and a complimentary one way airport transfer for guests staying at the Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London.

The offer must be booked by Oct 13 2015 and is valid for travel from now until Mar 31 2016.
